Schalke 04 – Borussia Dortmund

Schalke 04 – Borussia Dortmund

Schalke 04 hosts Borussia Dortmund at the Veltins-Arena in another edition of the magnificent Ruhr derby. This is a game from the 22th round of the Bundesliga. Are you ready to dive into some details now?

Schalke 04 are getting closer and closer to relegation to the 2. Bundesliga. The Royal Blues have won just one game since the beginning of the season. Schalke are currently 18th in the standings with 9 points and the future is looking very dark for them.

You can’t hope of survival when you are not winning games. In the previous round Schalke did not win again. They faced Union Berlin in the capital, but the game ended with no goals scored – 0-0. It seems that whatever the manager Christian Gross and his players are trying is simply not working.

Borussia Dortmund arrive in Gelsenkirchen from 6th place in the standings. Die Borussen have some work to do because they are 6 points behind the 4th Wolfsburg and the Top 4.

During the week Edin Terzic’ team made a marvelous performance in the Champions League. Dortmund paid a visit to Sevilla in a 1/8-final from the competition and achieved a spectacular 3-2 win at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. The Norwegian goal machine Erling Haaland scored a brace for the visitors while Mahmoud Dahoud scored one as well.

What the manager Edin Terzic must try to do is make his team perform in the same way in the Bundesliga. Borussia Dortmund won just one of their last six games in the Bundesliga and that’s the reason why they fell from the Top 4.

In this preview we must state the obvious – Borussia Dortmund are true favourites against Schalke 04 in the Ruhr derby. Die Borussen had a Champions League game during the week, so most likely the manager Terzic will do some rotations to keep the team fresh.

Holstein Kiel – Bayern Munich

Holstein Kiel – Bayern Munich

Holstein Kiel hosts Bayern Munich in a match from the 2nd round of the German DFB Pokal. Could the Bavarians have problems here? It’s not very likely, but let’s preview it.

Holstein Kiel are a club which participates in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga. At this moment they are third in the standings and they are giving us impression they will challenge for a Bundesliga promotion. In 15 matches played Holstein Kiel have a record of 8 wins, 5 draws and 2 losses – they are doing good.

Holstein Kiel reached the second round of the DFB Pokal after an impressive performance in the first round. Ole Werner’s team faced Rielasingen-Arlen and celebrated a stunning 7-1 win. Lee Jae-Sung scored twice for the visitors while Wahl, Barteis, Reese, Serra and Porath scored as well.

Bayern Munich are the reigning champion of the DFB Pokal. Hansi Flick’s team won the treble last season, so this is one of the trophies the Bavarian giants will try to defend.

In the first round of the competition Bayern Munich had to be visitors on theory, but they faced amateurs Duren Merzenich at their own Allianz Arena. Hansi Flick’s boys had a solid game and scored an easy 3-0 win. Erix Maxim Choupo-Moting scored a brace for Bayern while Thomas Muller scored one from a penalty kick as well.

You can be sure that Hansi Flick will make some rotations for the next game as well. Some backup players such as Choupo-Moting, Corentin Tolisso, Jamal Musiala and Marc Roca should find place in the starting eleven. Meanwhile Kingsley Coman, Lucas Hernandez and Jerome Boateng started from the bench in the last game against Borussia M’gladbach, so most likely they will be starters against Holstein Kiel on Wednesday.

That’s the preview of ours for the DFB Pokal clash between Holstein Kiel and Bayern Munich on Wednesday. That’s a good opportunity for Bayern to score another win. Let’s see.

Union Berlin will host the champion Bayern Munich

Union Berlin will host the champion Bayern Munich

Union Berlin will host the champion Bayern Munich at the Stadion An der Alten Forsterei in a match from the 11th round of the Bundesliga. Now it’s time to take a look at this game in the German capital.

For Union Berlin this season started in a terrific way. At this moment the club from the capital is 6th in the standings with 16 points won and that’s a great way to start the new campaign. Union have lost just two of their 10 games in the Bundesliga so far which is impressive.

Last week Union Berlin suffered their second defeat in the league. They participated in the capital derby against Hertha BSC at the Olympiastadion, but suffered a 1-3 defeat against the Old Lady. Taiwo Awoniyi actually opened the score for Union, but in the second half Hertha scored three times and managed to snatch the win.

Bayern Munich are leaders in the Bundesliga after 10 rounds played. The Bavarians are one point ahead of the second Bayer Leverkusen and they still have just one defeat – against Hoffenheim.

Last week the reigning champions made a second draw for the season. Bayern faced RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena and it ended with a dramatic 3-3 draw. Thomas Muller scored a brace for Bayern while Jamal Musiala also scored for the Bavarian giants. Conceding three times at home ground was not okay, though.

During the week Bayern Munich has a game in the Champions League as well. Their fixture against Lokomotiv Moscow at the Allianz Arena is not decisive though, so we expect to see the manager Hansi Flick rotating the team and giving a rest to key players.

That’s the preview for the Bundesliga game between Union Berlin and Bayern Munich in the capital. Don’t be too surprised if Union cause Bayern some problems here – they are doing very good this season.

Werder Bremen – Hertha BSC

Werder Bremen – Hertha BSC

Werder Bremen hosts Hertha BSC at the Weserstadion in a match from the first week of the Bundesliga. One of the best competitions in the world is starting again, so we can’t wait to see these teams in action.

Few days ago Werder Bremen played their first official game for the season and it was a positive experience. They visited Carl Zeiss Jena in a game from the first round of the DFB Pokal and enjoyed a pretty easy 2-0 win. Werder scored both of their goals after the halftime break. Joshua Sargent opened the score, while Tahith Chong made it 0-2.

Tahith Chong is probably the most interesting signing for Werder this summer. He’s a pure Dutch talent who was loaned to Werder by Manchester United. Let’s see if he can make a breakthrough season with his new team.

Florian Kohfeldt is starting his fourth season as a Werder Bremen manager. So far he’s doing his job and he’s keeping the team safe from relegation. That’s Werder’s main goal at the moment.

Hertha BSC didn’t start the 2020/21 season in the best way possible. The Old Lady said goodbye to the DFB Pokal after a dramatic 4-5 defeat from the hands of Eintracht Braunschweig. It was dissapointing for the fans to see such a result, especially against a non-Bundesliga opponent.

It’s still strange that Hertha scored four goals in this game and they still got eliminated. Dodi Lukebakio scored a brace for the Old Lady, while Pekarik and Matheus Cunha scored as well. But how we said it – it was simply not enough for the visitors.

We have a feeling that Werder Bremen and Hertha BSC will offer us a good game on Saturday. The away team didn’t start the new season in the best way possible, but maybe now they will have a chance to do better. Let’s see.

Eintracht Frankfurt – Freiburg

Eintracht Frankfurt – Freiburg

After both teams losing their last games in the Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt and Freiburg will meet at the Commerzbank-Arena, trying to do better. For Eintracht this season is not going well, while Freiburg still have a realistic chance to qualify for Europe next season. Let’s take a look.

Eintracht Frankfurt continued to lose even after the COVID-19 quarantine break. Adi Hutter’s team lost twice against Borussia M’gladbach and Bayern Munich, which makes us think that Hutter won’t be the manager anymore after the end of the season. Eintracht are clearly underperforming, being 14th in the table with 28 points. Reaching the Europa League 1/2-finals last year, right now Eintracht are in a run of five consecutive losses in the Bundesliga.

Freiburg on the other hand are still in a pretty good position to qualify for Europa League next season. At this moment Freiburg are 7th in the table with 37 points, just two points behind the 6th Wolfsburg. They have won just one of their last five matches in the league, though.

On Saturday Freiburg had a great chance to win against struggling Werder Bremen, but instead of this suffered a 0-1 defeat. Leonardo Bittencourt’s goal in the 19th minute was enough for the visitors to take the win.

Freiburg obviously need some kind of shaking up in order to improve. During the season this team proved that it’s good enough to qualify for Europa League. But most likely Freiburg won’t do it, if they don’t improve their current performance. That’s pretty much for sure.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Freiburg both need to win this game to improve their hurt confidence. The hosts can’t use the energy of the fans, but they need to remind themselves how good they were last season. Maybe this could help them to win against Freiburg on Tuesday.

Bayern Munich – Eintracht Frankfurt

Bayern Munich – Eintracht Frankfurt

The champion and leader in the Bundesliga Bayern Munich aim to enjoy their 19th win for the season when they host Eintracht Frankfurt at the Allianz Arena on Saturday. This is a match from the 27th round of the league and the Bavarians are clear favourites to clinch the win.

At this moment Bayern Munich enjoy four points lead in front of the second Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga standings. They must stay consistent, though, because this is not such of a big gap. Borussia Dortmund are showing great form and they could use every slump in Bayern Munich’s form.

Last week Bayern didn’t show any sign of slowing down. The champion visited Union Berlin in the capital and didn’t face much of a trouble to record a 2-0 win. There’s no surprise that Robert Lewandowski scored again for Bayern Munich, whie Benjamin Pavard scored the second one.

The decision to leave Hansi Flick as manager after Niko Kovac’ sacking seems brilliant so far. Flick found his way to deal with Bayern’s dressing room and so far his results are almost flawless.

We can’t say the same about Eintracht Frankfurt, though. Eintracht do not enjoy their best season, being 13th in the standings with just 28 points. Because of this dissapointing performance it’s very likely to see some major changes at Eintracht for the next season.

Last week Eintracht restarted their campaign after the COVID-19 pandemic with another loss. They hosted Borussia M’gladbach and got beaten with 1-3. This was their 4th consecutive loss in the league – a proof that nothing is right in Frankfurt at the moment.

In conclusion we can say that we’d be really surprised if Bayern Munich don’t take the three points against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. The champions are much better at the moment, so we don’t see how Eintracht will have a good day at the Allianz Arena.

Freiburg – Bayern Munich

Freiburg – Bayern Munich

Freiburg hosts the champion Bayern Munich at the Schwarzwald-Stadion in a game from the 16th round of the Bundesliga.

Freiburg are havina very positive season so far. They are currently 6th in the Bundesliga standings with 25 points and with a record of 7 wins, 4 draws and 4 losses. In their last three games they suffered two defeats, which hurt them in terms of position in the table, but they are still in the Top 6 and this is absolutely great for them.

Few days ago Freiburg suffered their 4th loss for the season. Christian Streich’s boys visited the capital to face Hertha BSC and got beaten with 0-1. The Czech midfielder Vladimir Darida scored the only goal in the game in the beginning of the second half. Christian Streich picked Vincenzo Grifo and Kwon Chang-Hoon from the bench, but this didn’t hurt the hosts.

Bayern Munich reacted well after suffering two consecutive losses in the league. On Saturday the Bavarians hosted Werder Bremen and entertained their fans with a crushing 6-1 win. Philippe Coutinho was the man of the match, scoring a hattrick and giving two assists. This is a perfect performance by the Brazilian midfielder. Robert Lewandowski twice and Thomas Muller also scored for FC Hollywood.

Bayern Munich has some catching up to do. Right now the champions are 5th in the Bundesliga with 27 points, being 6 points behind the leader RB Leipzig. Against Freiburg they will aim to record their 9th win for the season, but it won’t be easy – Freiburg are pretty decent since the start of the campaign.

Because of Freiburg being pretty good this season, this game between them and Bayern Munich on Wednesday promises to be really entertaining. The champions scored six goals in their last game, but are very solid at home right now.

Bayern Munich hosts Borussia Dortmund

Bayern Munich hosts Borussia Dortmund

All of the fans of German football will be excited on Saturday, because the champion Bayern Munich hosts Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena in the big derby of the Bundesliga.

For Bayern Munich this is going to be a first Bundesliga game since the departure of the head coach Niko Kovac. The Croatian manager was sacked after the humilating 1-5 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend. During the week the caretaker Hans Dieter Flick debuted with a win in the Champions League with Bayern beaing Olympiakos with 2-0 in Munich.

While Bayern Munich’s board is still looking for a new manager to replace Kovac, Hans Dieter Flick must find a way to calm the dressing room and motivate the players before the big derby. Against Olympiakos he left Philippe Coutinho on the bench, but maybe his idea was to keep the Brazilian fresh for the game against Dortmund on Saturday. Thiago Alcantara and Ivan Perisic also sat on the bench on Wednesday.

Borussia Dortmund also had a game in the Champions League during the week, beating Inter Milan with 3-2 at the Signal Iduna Park in a dramatic and exciting fixture. Die Borussen were two goals behind, but in a heroic way they turned the game around with two goals from Achraf Hakimi and one from Julian Brandt.

What Borussia Dortmund can do now is try to use the managerial problems in Bayern Munich. The situation in the champions’ dressing room is not perfect and they are without a head coach now. This is a great chance for Lucien Favre’s boys to make a hit. So far Dortmund have lost just one game in the Bundesliga – against the newcomers Union Berlin.

Even without a manager at the moment, Bayern Munich remain a boogeyman. For Borussia Dortmund it won’t be easy at the Allianz Arena, but they also have the tools to win this one.

Leipzig – Eintracht Frankfurt

Leipzig hosts Eintracht Frankfurt in a game from the second round of the Bundesliga. This clash at the Red Bull Arena promises a lot of fun moments, because these two teams are really good. Let’s take a look at it.

RB Leipzig started the new season in the best way possible – with a win. The Bulls travelled to the capital to face the newcomers Union Berlin and celebrated a crushing 4-0 win. Marcel Halstenberg, Marcel Sabitzer and Timo Werner scored until the halftime break, while during the second half Christopher Nkunku added one more goal for the visitors.

This was a Bundesliga debut with RB Leipzig for the club’s new manager Julian Nagelsmann. The young tactician left Hoffenheim to move to Leipzig and start a new chapter in his managerial career. He’s regarded one of the most promising young managers in the world, so it’s going to be very interesting to follow his career at his new club.

Meanwhile Eintracht Frankfurt also started the new season with a win. The Eagles hosted Hoffenheim at home and celebrated a difficult 1-0 win. The only goal in the game was scored in the first minute when the centre back Martin Hinteregger scored after an assist from Filip Kostic. Last season Eintracht did well and reached the semi-finals of Europa League, but the team didn’t find a place in the Champions League. One of the primary goals this season is going to be a Top 4 finish, despite of the departures of influental players like Luka Jovic and Sebastien Haller.

You can be sure that RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt will offer the fans a spectacular game on Sunday. Both of these two teams have ambition to qualify for the Champions League, so for them every point is important. Let’s see what’s going to happen.

Hoffenheim – Wolfsburg

Hoffenheim hosts Wolfsburg in a match from the 31th round of the German Bundesliga. How about to have a look at this game and see what’s the situation with these two sides at this moment.

RIght now Hoffenheim are 6th in the Bundesliga with 50 points, trying to secure their place in Europe for next season. Julian Nagelsmann’s team even have some solid chances to qualify for the Champions League, being just 3 points behind the 4th Eintracht Frankfurt.

So far in the league Hoffenheim have won 13 of their games, doing 11 draws and suffering 6 losses. In their last five games Hoffe are almost perfect – one draw, followed by four consecutive wins. Right now Hoffenheim are among the teams in the best shape in the Bundesliga.

In their last game Hoffenheim travelled to Gelsenkirchen and enjoyed a solid 5-2 win over Schalke 04. Ishak Belfodil scored a brace for the winning side, while Andrej Kramaric, Adam Szalai and Nadiem Amiri also scored for the visitors.

Meanwhile Wolfsburg are 9th in the standings with 46 points, but still having some chances to play in Europe. The Wolves are only 4 points behind their next opponent, so for them this is a perfect chance to ressurect their hopes of European football for next seaseon. So far in the league Wolfsburg have 13 wins, 7 draws and 10 losses.

Wolfsburg’s recent form is pretty inconsistent – two wins, two losses and one draw. In their last match Bruno Labbadia’s boys made a 1-1 draw at home against a very strong opponent – Eintracht Frankfurt. The Wolves were very close to losing this one, but a late equalising goal from John Brooks in the 90th minute saved them.

That’s what we had to say about the Bundesliga clash between Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg from the 31th round of the league. Good luck!
