Everton – Arsenal

Everton – Arsenal

Everton hosts Arsenal at the Goodison Park in a match from the 14th round of the Premier League. Let’s spend few minutes to take a look at it, shall we?

Everton find themselves at 5th place in the Premier League standings with 23 points won so far. The Toffees had some period of inconsistency, but they won their last two games in the league against Chelsea and Leicester City. This allowed them to climb to 5th place in the standings and move just one point behind the 4th Leicester.

On Wednesday Everton had a tough visit to Leicester City at the King Power, but they managed to win. Richarlison and Mason Holgate scored for Carlo Ancelotti’s team during the two halves of the game. It seems that the Italian manager is once again starting to find the right approach to his players. Everton had some really difficult moments after the strong start of the season, but now they are looking like themselves again.

Arsenal are a club in crisis. The Gunners have won just four times since the beginning of the campaign and they are now 15th in the standings with 14 points won. For a last time Arsenal won in the first day of November against Manchester United at the Old Trafford. Since then the Gunners are winless.

On Wednesday Arsenal again didn’t win. Mikel Arteta’s team hosted Southampton at the Emirates, but only got a point with a 1-1 draw. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the hosts’ only goal in the game.

The manager Mikel Arteta is under some serious pressure at the moment. The Spanish coach could be sacked if he doesn’t find a way to fix his team’s performances.

That’s our preview for the Premier League fixture between Everton and Arsenal at the Goodison Park. For the hosts this is a great chance to beat a team in crisis at the moment. They are favourites.

Everton – Manchester United

Everton – Manchester United

Everton hosts Manchester United at the Goodison Park in a match from the 8th round of the Premier League. This shall be a pretty good game, so let’s preview it right now.

Everton were leaders in the Premier League, but lately they are facing some difficulties. Carlo Ancelotti’s team won just one point in its last three matches, so now the Toffees are 4th in the standings with 13 points. It’d be curious to see if they can revive their performances or maybe they will be overtaken in the Top 4 soon.

Last week Everton suffered a second consecutive loss in the Premier League. The Blues traveled to face Newcastle United, but the Magpies took a 2-1 win at the St. James’ Park. Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal for Everton was not enough for even a point.

Most likely Carlo Ancelotti will try to shake things up with some changes in the line-up. Players such as Alex Iwobi and Bernard could find themselves in the starting eleven.

Manchester United are showing two different faces since the beginning of the season. The Red Devils are doing pretty well in the Champions League, but they are more shaky in the Premier League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team won just one of the last four matches which is building some pressure around the manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

At this moment United are 15th in the Premier League standings with just 7 points, but they are also with a game in hand compared to most of hte other teams.

That’s our preview for the Premier League derby between Everton and Manchester United on Saturday. The visitors have a game in the Champions League during the week, so maybe Solskjaer is going to rotate the line-up a little bit and refresh the squad. It’s going to be a tough challenge for the visitors, there’s no doubt about this.
