Eintracht Frankfurt – Freiburg

Eintracht Frankfurt – Freiburg

After both teams losing their last games in the Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt and Freiburg will meet at the Commerzbank-Arena, trying to do better. For Eintracht this season is not going well, while Freiburg still have a realistic chance to qualify for Europe next season. Let’s take a look.

Eintracht Frankfurt continued to lose even after the COVID-19 quarantine break. Adi Hutter’s team lost twice against Borussia M’gladbach and Bayern Munich, which makes us think that Hutter won’t be the manager anymore after the end of the season. Eintracht are clearly underperforming, being 14th in the table with 28 points. Reaching the Europa League 1/2-finals last year, right now Eintracht are in a run of five consecutive losses in the Bundesliga.

Freiburg on the other hand are still in a pretty good position to qualify for Europa League next season. At this moment Freiburg are 7th in the table with 37 points, just two points behind the 6th Wolfsburg. They have won just one of their last five matches in the league, though.

On Saturday Freiburg had a great chance to win against struggling Werder Bremen, but instead of this suffered a 0-1 defeat. Leonardo Bittencourt’s goal in the 19th minute was enough for the visitors to take the win.

Freiburg obviously need some kind of shaking up in order to improve. During the season this team proved that it’s good enough to qualify for Europa League. But most likely Freiburg won’t do it, if they don’t improve their current performance. That’s pretty much for sure.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Freiburg both need to win this game to improve their hurt confidence. The hosts can’t use the energy of the fans, but they need to remind themselves how good they were last season. Maybe this could help them to win against Freiburg on Tuesday.

Bayern Munich – Eintracht Frankfurt

Bayern Munich – Eintracht Frankfurt

The champion and leader in the Bundesliga Bayern Munich aim to enjoy their 19th win for the season when they host Eintracht Frankfurt at the Allianz Arena on Saturday. This is a match from the 27th round of the league and the Bavarians are clear favourites to clinch the win.

At this moment Bayern Munich enjoy four points lead in front of the second Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga standings. They must stay consistent, though, because this is not such of a big gap. Borussia Dortmund are showing great form and they could use every slump in Bayern Munich’s form.

Last week Bayern didn’t show any sign of slowing down. The champion visited Union Berlin in the capital and didn’t face much of a trouble to record a 2-0 win. There’s no surprise that Robert Lewandowski scored again for Bayern Munich, whie Benjamin Pavard scored the second one.

The decision to leave Hansi Flick as manager after Niko Kovac’ sacking seems brilliant so far. Flick found his way to deal with Bayern’s dressing room and so far his results are almost flawless.

We can’t say the same about Eintracht Frankfurt, though. Eintracht do not enjoy their best season, being 13th in the standings with just 28 points. Because of this dissapointing performance it’s very likely to see some major changes at Eintracht for the next season.

Last week Eintracht restarted their campaign after the COVID-19 pandemic with another loss. They hosted Borussia M’gladbach and got beaten with 1-3. This was their 4th consecutive loss in the league – a proof that nothing is right in Frankfurt at the moment.

In conclusion we can say that we’d be really surprised if Bayern Munich don’t take the three points against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. The champions are much better at the moment, so we don’t see how Eintracht will have a good day at the Allianz Arena.

Eintracht Frankfurt hosts Borussia Dortmund

Eintracht Frankfurt hosts Borussia Dortmund

It’s going to be really interesting at the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt on Sunday, because Eintracht Frankfurt hosts Borussia Dortmund in a match from the fifth round of the German Bundesliga.

After selling some of their best players in the summer, Eintracht didn’t start the new campaign in the most consistent way. In four matches played so far, Adi Hutter’s boys won twice and lost twice. Now they are 9th in the standings with 6 points won, so they need to step up a little bit and do something to improve their consistency.

In the previous round Eintracht suffered their second loss for the season. The Europa League semi-finalists travelled to meet Augsburg and got beaten with 1-2. In the second half the Portuguese striker Goncalo Paciencia scored for the visitors, but before this Richter and Niederlechner gave Augsburg a very good advantage in the result.

Few days ago Eintracht Frankfurt had their first game in Europa League as well. They hosted Arsenal at home, but didn’t show nothing and suffered a 0-3 loss.

Borussia Dortmund started the new season with the ambition to win the title and so far they are showing it. They suffered a surprising loss against Union in Berlin, but they won all of the other three games they had.

In the previous round Dortmund hosted Bayer Leverkusen at the Signal Iduna Park and celebrated an exciting 4-0 win. Marco Reus scored a brace for the hosts, while Paco Alcacer and Raphael Guerreiro also scored.

During the week Borussia Dortmund hosted Barcelona in a game from the Champions League group stage. Lucien Favre’s team missed a penalty kick after the halftime break, while the game ended with a 0-0 draw.

Everything could happen in this clash between Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund on Sunday. Both teams are pretty ambitious and capable, so a lot of things could happen on the pitch.

Leipzig – Eintracht Frankfurt

Leipzig hosts Eintracht Frankfurt in a game from the second round of the Bundesliga. This clash at the Red Bull Arena promises a lot of fun moments, because these two teams are really good. Let’s take a look at it.

RB Leipzig started the new season in the best way possible – with a win. The Bulls travelled to the capital to face the newcomers Union Berlin and celebrated a crushing 4-0 win. Marcel Halstenberg, Marcel Sabitzer and Timo Werner scored until the halftime break, while during the second half Christopher Nkunku added one more goal for the visitors.

This was a Bundesliga debut with RB Leipzig for the club’s new manager Julian Nagelsmann. The young tactician left Hoffenheim to move to Leipzig and start a new chapter in his managerial career. He’s regarded one of the most promising young managers in the world, so it’s going to be very interesting to follow his career at his new club.

Meanwhile Eintracht Frankfurt also started the new season with a win. The Eagles hosted Hoffenheim at home and celebrated a difficult 1-0 win. The only goal in the game was scored in the first minute when the centre back Martin Hinteregger scored after an assist from Filip Kostic. Last season Eintracht did well and reached the semi-finals of Europa League, but the team didn’t find a place in the Champions League. One of the primary goals this season is going to be a Top 4 finish, despite of the departures of influental players like Luka Jovic and Sebastien Haller.

You can be sure that RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt will offer the fans a spectacular game on Sunday. Both of these two teams have ambition to qualify for the Champions League, so for them every point is important. Let’s see what’s going to happen.
