Cadiz – Real Sociedad

Cadiz – Real Sociedad

Cadiz faces La Liga leaders Real Sociedad at the Estadio Ramon de Carranza in a game from the 10th round of the league. Let’s preview it in the next few paragraphs, should we?

Cadiz approach the 10th round of La Liga from 6th place in the current standings. The newcomers are doing very well since their promotion to the elite division. In 9 games played, Cadiz won four times and this helped them enter the Top 6. The head coach Alvaro could be very happy with the performance of his players so far.

Before the international break Cadiz suffered a loss, though. They had to face Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano and it didn’t end too well with a 4-0 win for Los Colchoneros. Cadiz will try to forget about this performance and do better on Sunday.

Alvaro has some problems before the next game. Nano, Isaac Carcelen, Luis Quezada and Jose Mari are all injured right now.

Real Sociedad approach this visit to Cadiz with the confidence of being the current leader in La Liga. The Basques are at the top of the standings with 20 points and with five wins in their last five matches in La Liga.

Before the break La Real achieved their 6th win for the season. Imanol Alguacil’s team hosted Granada in San Sebastian and enjoyed a 2-0 win. Nacho Monreal and Mikel Oyarzabal scored for the hosts.

Real Sociedad’s French centre-back Robin Le Normand is missing this visit to Cadiz. The 24-years old defender was sent off during the win over Granada.

That’s our preview for the La Liga fixture between Cadiz and Real Sociedad at the Estadio Ramon de Carranza. With five wins in their last five matches, La Real should be the favourites here. At the same time do not forget that Cadiz are a solid team as well and they are 6th in the standings.

Getafe hosts Espanyol

Getafe hosts Espanyol

Getafe hosts Espanyol at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez in a game from the 29th round of La Liga. Are you ready to read a preview for this fixture? Let’s go.

Despite of restarting their season with a loss against Granada away from home, Getafe remain a contender for a Top 4 finish and a return to the Champions League. At this moment they are 5th with 46 points, so their chances of a first qualification to the Champions League are pretty much alive. It depends on them how they will do.

Most probably Getafe feel some regret for this result against Granada because they scored the first goal in the game. Timor opened the score for Getafe at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes, but Dakonam scored himself an own goal. The hosts secured the win with a winning goal from Carlos Fernandez in the 79th minute.

The Serbian goalkeeper Filip Manojlovic is the only absentee for Getafe because of injury. But at the same time he hasn’t played any minutes for the club this season, so that’s not something to talk about very much.

On Saturday Espanyol ressurected their chances for survival. Los Perricos recorded their 5th win for the season when they hosted Deportivo Alaves. Alaves’ goalkeeper Pacheco was sent off after just 18 minutes of play and things got easier for the Catalans. Bernardo Espinosa and Wu Lei scored the two winning goals for Abelardo’s team.

With this win Espanyol remain at the bottom of the league, but they have 23 points which moved them a bit closer to the big goal – survival.

The French defender Sebastien Corchia is not avaliable for Espanyol because of an injury. He’s missing this game for the Los Perricos.

We can say that this game between Getafe and Espanyol is equally important for both sides. The hosts are trying to qualify for the Champions League while the Catalans are fighting for their survival in the league.

Atletico Madrid – Osasuna

Atletico Madrid – Osasuna

Atletico Madrid hosts Osasuna at the Wanda Metropolitano in a game from the 17th round of La Liga.

Atletico Madrid are in a serious need of improving their performance in the league. In their last five matches in La Liga Los Colchoneros won just once – against Espanyol. Since this win, Atletico have won just two points in their last three matches. This is the main reason why Diego Simeone’s team is currently 7th in the league with 26 points, but just one point behind Real Sociedad and the Top 4.

During the week Atletico secured their place in the Champions League eliminations. Simeone’s boys didn’t make a mistake against Lokomotiv Moscow at the Wanda and won with 2-0. Joao Felix opened the score from a penalty kick while Felipe added one more goal after the halftime break.

Diego Costa remains sidelined for Atletico Madrid, while Stefan Savic and Sime Vrsaljko are also injured and still recovering. These players are not avaliable for selection by the manager.

Osasuna are newcomers in La Liga, but so far they are doing a good job since their return to the league. At this moment the Pamploners are 10th in the standings with 23 points, being 10 points away of the relegation zone. This is exactly the type of performance Osasuna wished to have before the start of the campaign.

In the previous round Osasuna scored their 8th draw in the league. Alongside Atletico Madrid, they are the team with the most draws in La Liga this season. Arrasate’s team hosted Sevilla and fought for a point with a 1-1 draw. Munir opened for the visitors, but Ezequiel Avila equalised for the hosts.

In this game Osasuna’s defender Oier was sent off, so he will be suspended for the match against Atletico on Saturday.

Atletico Madrid need to return to winning as soon as possible, but they will have a tough opponent on Saturday. They need to be focuces because Osasuna are a hard team to beat.

Valencia – Leganes

Valencia hosts Leganes in a match from the 9th round of the Spanish La Liga. Let’s take a look at this match, which is going to be played at the Mestalla in Valencia.

The last season was very good for Valencia and the team qualified for the Champions League for a first time since some years. But we can say that Marcelino’s team did not stat the new campaign in the best way possible. Valencia are currently 13th in the league standings with 9 points and a record of 1 win, 6 draws and 1 loss. It’s not good enough for a club which aims to finish in the Top 4 of La Liga.

In their last five matches, Valencia made four draws. Including against the champion Barcelona in the previous round. Ezequiel Garay opened the score for Los Che after just two minutes of playing, but Barca’s superstar Lionel Messi levelled the score after an assist from Luis Suarez.

In other words, right now Valencia are doing too many draws and they are losing too many points. Their goal is once again to finish in the Top 4 and to return to the Champions League. But it’s going to be difficult.

Leganes are also having some trouble. They are currently in the relegation zone of the league, being 18th with 7 points won. Their record so far shows 2 wins, 1 draw and 5 defeats.

But Leganes are showing some improvement lately. The team won two of its last three matches, beating Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano at home. Clearly Leganes are much better at home than they are on the road. Let’s see how this will affect their performance against Valencia.

That’s our view on the La Liga clash between Valencia and Leganes at the Mestalla. We wish you good luck with this one!
