Everton – Arsenal

Everton – Arsenal

Everton hosts Arsenal at the Goodison Park in a match from the 14th round of the Premier League. Let’s spend few minutes to take a look at it, shall we?

Everton find themselves at 5th place in the Premier League standings with 23 points won so far. The Toffees had some period of inconsistency, but they won their last two games in the league against Chelsea and Leicester City. This allowed them to climb to 5th place in the standings and move just one point behind the 4th Leicester.

On Wednesday Everton had a tough visit to Leicester City at the King Power, but they managed to win. Richarlison and Mason Holgate scored for Carlo Ancelotti’s team during the two halves of the game. It seems that the Italian manager is once again starting to find the right approach to his players. Everton had some really difficult moments after the strong start of the season, but now they are looking like themselves again.

Arsenal are a club in crisis. The Gunners have won just four times since the beginning of the campaign and they are now 15th in the standings with 14 points won. For a last time Arsenal won in the first day of November against Manchester United at the Old Trafford. Since then the Gunners are winless.

On Wednesday Arsenal again didn’t win. Mikel Arteta’s team hosted Southampton at the Emirates, but only got a point with a 1-1 draw. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the hosts’ only goal in the game.

The manager Mikel Arteta is under some serious pressure at the moment. The Spanish coach could be sacked if he doesn’t find a way to fix his team’s performances.

That’s our preview for the Premier League fixture between Everton and Arsenal at the Goodison Park. For the hosts this is a great chance to beat a team in crisis at the moment. They are favourites.

Chelsea – Tottenham Hotspur

Chelsea – Tottenham Hotspur

Chelsea hosts Tottenham Hotspur at the Stamford Bridge in a really nice London derby from the 10th round of the Premier League. Let’s give it a good look in our preview.

Two contenders for the Premier League title are facing each other. At this moment just two points separate them in the standings. Tottenham are leaders with 20 points while Chelsea are third with 18 points. Depending on some other results Chelsea would even top the league if they beat Spurs on Sunday.

Three wins in their last three matches – this is Chelsea’s solid shape in the Prem lately. Last weekend Frank Lampard’s team had a visit to Newcastle United which they won 2-0. Newcastle’s Fernandez scored himself an early own goal while in the 65th minute Tammy Abraham scored a second one for the Blues. It was a good game for Lampard’s team.

During the week Chelsea claimed another win, but in the Champions League. The Blues faced Rennes in France and acheived a 2-1 win.

Tottenham Hotspur are leaders in the Premier League with 20 points won so far. They are on par with the champion Liverpool, but a better goal difference puts them on top.

Last weekend Spurs faced Manchester City at home and reminded us how good they are with a 2-0 win. Son Heung-Min and Giovani Lo Celso scored for Jose Mourinho’s team.

During the week Tottenham recorded their 5th consecutive win in all competitions. The Londoners faced Ludogorets in Europa League and didn’t have any problems to take a 4-0 win. Carlos Vinicius scored twice for Tottenham while Winks and Lucas Moura scored as well.

That’s our preview for the Premier League derby clash between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. We expect some fireworks here because these two teams are among the title contenders this season. Let’s see what they are going to offer us.

Everton – Manchester United

Everton – Manchester United

Everton hosts Manchester United at the Goodison Park in a match from the 8th round of the Premier League. This shall be a pretty good game, so let’s preview it right now.

Everton were leaders in the Premier League, but lately they are facing some difficulties. Carlo Ancelotti’s team won just one point in its last three matches, so now the Toffees are 4th in the standings with 13 points. It’d be curious to see if they can revive their performances or maybe they will be overtaken in the Top 4 soon.

Last week Everton suffered a second consecutive loss in the Premier League. The Blues traveled to face Newcastle United, but the Magpies took a 2-1 win at the St. James’ Park. Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal for Everton was not enough for even a point.

Most likely Carlo Ancelotti will try to shake things up with some changes in the line-up. Players such as Alex Iwobi and Bernard could find themselves in the starting eleven.

Manchester United are showing two different faces since the beginning of the season. The Red Devils are doing pretty well in the Champions League, but they are more shaky in the Premier League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team won just one of the last four matches which is building some pressure around the manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

At this moment United are 15th in the Premier League standings with just 7 points, but they are also with a game in hand compared to most of hte other teams.

That’s our preview for the Premier League derby between Everton and Manchester United on Saturday. The visitors have a game in the Champions League during the week, so maybe Solskjaer is going to rotate the line-up a little bit and refresh the squad. It’s going to be a tough challenge for the visitors, there’s no doubt about this.

Manchester United – Chelsea

Manchester United – Chelsea

Manchester United hosts Chelsea at the Old Trafford in a match from the 6th round of the Premier League. Here is our thoughts about this derby fixture at the Theatre of Dreams on Saturday.

Manchester United approach the 6th round from 15th place in the standings, so certainly they have a lot to work on at the moment. The Red Devils have just 6 points won from four matches played and there’s a huge room for improvement at the moment.

During the week Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team achieved an amazing win to boost its confidence. Manchester United faced PSG in the Champions League and went home with a terrific 2-1 win at the Parc des Princes. Bruno Fernandes from a penalty kick and Marcus Rashford scored for the English side.

Everybody is talking about Axel Tuanzebe’s performance against PSG. The 22-years old defender played 90 minutes against PSG and made an amazing impression with his capabilities. Most surely he’s going to start the next game as well.

Chelsea also had a Champions League game during the week, but they didn’t win it. The Blues hosted Europa League winners Sevilla at the Stamford Bridge, but they game ended with no goals – 0-0. Chelsea had some chances to score a winner, but the Spanish side defended well.

Frank Lampard could be making some changes for Chelsea’s next game. Players like Hakim Ziyech, Mateo Kovacic, Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi all started from the bench against the Spaniards, but they could be in the line-up for the next game.

Manchester United and Chelsea are usually giving us some great matches, so we don’t have any doubts we are going to see one at the Old Trafford. The Red Devils’ performance in the Champions League was better, but Chelsea didn’t lose their game as well. It’s going to be a great one.

Crystal Palace – Southampton

Crystal Palace – Southampton

Crystal Palace hosts Southampton at the Selhurst Park in London in a game from the first round of the Premier League. Let’s preview this match in the coming few paragraphs.

The experienced manager Roy Hodgson did his magic again last season and helped Crystal Palace keep their place in the Premier League. The club performed in a pretty solid way and finished on a safe distance from the relegation zone. It was a successful season for the club.

Crystal Palace did their best to improve the squad during the summer. The club paid more than 17 millon euro to Queens Park Rangers for the Nigerian attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze. He’s just 22-years old, so we could call it an investment for the future. Meanwhile the right back Nathan Ferguson was signed with a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion. If the new signings click well with the team then it could be a nice upgrade for Palace.

Southampton kept their place in the Premier League after a very strong second part of the 2019/20 season. The Saints made some strong performances under the manager Ralph Hassenhuttl, so now survival remains the main goal.

During the pre-season Southampton made two important deals on the transfer market. The club paid some good money for Tottenham’s right back Kyle Walker-Peters and Real Valladolid’s centre-back Mohammed Salisu. The team had some problems in defense last season, so it’s understandable why Ralph Hassenhuttl chose to improve his backline. Defense always comes first and the Austrian manager knows this pretty well.

We can say this is a game between two teams which would be in a fight against relegation this season. If they can do something more then it’d be very nice for them and their supporters. Crystal Palace start the season at home, but without fans it’s not really that important.

Chelsea – Wolverhampton Wanderers

Chelsea – Wolverhampton Wanderers

Chelsea will look to keep their place in the Top 4 when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers in a game from the final 38th round of the Premier League. The situation regarding the Top 4 race is really interesting right now, so let’s take a look.

What’s happenning with Chelsea right now? The Blues are 4th in the league with 63 points, while the third Manchester United have the same amount of points. The 5th Leicester City is just one point behind and the Foxes are facing Manchester United in the final round. To be completely sure that they are going to finish in the Top 4 Chelsea need at least a point against Wolves on Sunday.

Frank Lampard’s team will try to recover after the dramatic 3-5 loss during the visit to Liverpool. It does not happen everyday to score three times at the Anfield, but Giroud, Abraham and Pulisic’ goals in Alisson’s net was not enough.

Chelsea will face Arsenal in the FA Cup final, but before this they must do their job and secure their qualification for the Champions League.

Wolverhampton Wanderers on the other hand will try to keep the 6th place in the league, being just one point ahead of the 7th Tottenham Hotspur. Nuno Santo’s boys had a terrific season, so keeping the 6th place will be a pretty major achievement for them. The problem is they need to win at the Stamford Bridge to be one hundred percent sure they got it.

Wolves are showing good form in their last three matches – two wins and one draw. But let’s see how they will do against a very motivated Chelsea team in London.

We believe that Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers will offer us one of the best games from the final 38th round of the Premier League. Both teams have their reasons to seek the three points. Let’s see.

Manchester City welcomes Newcastle United

Manchester City welcomes Newcastle United

Manchester City welcomes Newcastle United at the Etihad in a fixture from the 34th week of the Premier League. Allow us to take some preview of this match on Wednesday.

Manchester City will play this game just few days after their 0-1 loss during the visit to Southampton at the St. Mary’s. For the Cityzens this was a third consecutive defeat away from home, although for them it doesn’t matter much at the moment. Pep Guardiola’s side remain second in the standings with 66 points.

Guardiola put some of his best players on the pitch against the Saints, but Man City are clearly not motivated enough at the moment. They are focusing now on the Champions League and the FA Cup, so we highly doubt they are going to finish the Premier League on a high speed. These games are going to be nothing more, but preparation for them.

Newcastle United faced West Ham United on Sunday, but only won a point with a 2-2 draw at home. Almiron and Shelvey scored for Steve Bruce’s team, but the Hammers showed some desire to get at least a point from the game and they really did it.

With this point Newcastle improved their position in the league, though. The Magpies are now 12th with 43 points, just two points behind Tottenham Hotspur and the Top 10. With a little bit of a luck, Newcastle could finish in the Top 10 which would be a great performance.

In our preview for this game between Manchester City and Newcastle United we expect a calm game without much pressure between these two teams. It’s not really that important for neither of the teams, so let’s see. Maybe Man City will try to do better after their defeat on Sunday, but the truth is for them this game does not matter that much.

Liverpool hosts Southampton

Liverpool hosts Southampton

The leader in the Premier League Liverpool hosts Southampton in a match which is another step for the Reds towards the title. Let’s have a look at this game at the Anfield Road on Saturday.

Everyone is aware right now that for Liverpool winning the Premier League title is just a matter of time. The Reds are enjoying one of the best seasons in the history of the league, having won 22 of their 23 matches and still being unbeaten. They are 16 points ahead of the champion Manchester City and they even have a game in hand. That’s spectacular.

Last week Liverpool had a tough visit to the Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers, but everything went smoothly for the leaders. Liverpool conceded a goal against the Wolves, but also scored two. Jordan Henderson opened the score for Liverpool, while Roberto Firmino scored the winner just six minutes before the end.

Southampton are going to be more fresh for this game, because on Wednesday Liverpool will face West Ham in a postponed game from the Premier League. But will this actually help the Saints?

Southampton are a team which is doing very well since the Christmas holidays. Because of the good results which the Saints recorded, Southampton are now 9th in the league with 31 points. Not too while ago they were actually in the relegation zone and conceded 9 goals against Leicester City in one game. They were pretty bad, yes.

In the previous round Southampton enjoyed their 9th win for the season. Ralph Hassenhuttl’s boys visited Crystal Palace in the capital and scored a 2-0 win. Nathan Redmond opened the score for the visitors, while Stuart Armstrong doubled their lead. It was a pretty solid performance by the Saints.

Liverpool are looking so invincible right now that we can’t possibly say something else, but state the obvious – they are huge favourites against Southampton on Saturday. For them this is another step towards the title.

Arsenal hosts Sheffield United

Arsenal hosts Sheffield United

Arsenal hosts Sheffield United at the Emirates on Saturday in a match from the 23th week of the Premier League.

With just one win in their last five matches in the Premier League, Arsenal are probably aware that with this kind of performance they could hardly achieve anything this season. Right now the Gunners are 11 points behind Chelsea and the Top 4, so it’s now or never for them – they won’t qualify for the Champions League if they don’t start winning on a regular basis.

Mikel Arteta achieved his first win as a manager against Manchester United, but in the next round his team lost two points during the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal at the Selhurst Park was not enough for Arsenal to secure the win.

The bad news for Arteta is that Aubameyang got sent off in this game, so he won’t be avaliable against Sheffield United on Saturday. Meanwhile Hector Bellerin and Callum Chambers remain sidelined as well.

For Arsenal it won’t be easy on Saturday because Sheffield United are performing very well since their promotion from the Championship. Surprisingly for most of the people, the Blades are currently 6th in the league with 32 points, outperforming their next opponent. Only time will tell if Sheffield United will be one season wonder or not. But right now they are showing a lot of quality.

In the previous round United achieved another important win. Chris Wilder’s team hosted West Ham United and won the game with 1-0 at the Bramall Lane. Oliver McBurnie scored the only goal in the game in the beginning of the second half.

In most of the time we would say that Arsenal are clear favourite against Sheffield United, but right now we are not sure how true would be this. The visitors are better positioned in the league at the moment and there are reasons for this.

Bournemouth welcomes Manchester United

Bournemouth welcomes Manchester United

AFC Bournemouth welcomes Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium in a match from the 11th round of the Premier League.

Right now Bournemouth could be satisfied with they way they perform as they are 9th in the league standings with 13 points won so far, which is absolutely okay for the Cherries. What can worry them is the fact that they are without a win in their last four games in the league, doing three draws and losing once against Arsenal at the Emirates.

In the previous round Bournemouth won a point during their 0-0 draw against Watford at the Vicarage Road, although they can feel regretful about some missed opportunities in this match.

Against Manchester United the manager Eddie Howe can’t use some of his players. Charlie Daniels, Junior Stanislas, David Brooks and Dan Gosling are all injured, missing the home clash against the Red Devils.

Manchester United right now are enjoying a run of three consecutive wins, achieved in three different competitions – Europa League, Premier League and the League Cup.

Last week United managed to enjoy a 3-1 during the visit to Norwich City in the Premier League, while on Wednesday the team progressed in the League Cup as well. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s boys visited Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge and clinched a 2-1 win. Marcus Rashford scored both goals for the Red Devils.

This is a good run of results for Manchester United. The manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was heaviliy criticized lately, but this kind of performance could improve his current situation at the club. What Manchester United needs right now is just one thing – wins, wins and wins.

Based on Manchester United’s current form, we can say they are in a good position to chase all of the three points against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday. The Cherries are a tough opponents, but United are in a good shape right now.
